Our Canadian democracy and that includes Quebec, as in all civil democracies around the world, functions and survives because it is based on laws, free elections, majority rule, minority rights, constitutional government, and equality.
Further our Canadian democracy depends on all citizens who attain legal age make an individual commitment to the ballot box, common sense and educate themselves sufficiently to enable them to respect all the laws implemented through free elections, majority rule, minority rights, equality and commitment from all eligible voters to exercise oversight at election time as opposed to anti social behavior, lawlessness and criminality.
However DEMOCRACY does require that
individual commitment, responsibility and respect from all citizens, young, middle age or seniors, for upholding and obeying all the laws of a democratic society. That also includes a respect for fellow humans and private or public property that unfortunately with today’s younger generation is grossly lacking.
Yes a democracy has its flaws and faults but when compared to all other tried and failed systems, forced on citizens throughout history, like Maoism, Leninism, Stalinism, Nazism, Fascism, or Communism, DEMOCRACY is the best and freest system of government throughout the existence of mankind.
Our Canadian democracy shall always thrive when its citizens understand that while our democracy is not perfect and has faults compared to all other systems of government it remains the best for all Canadians fortunate to be recognized as a Canadian.
Out-of-province unions donating thousands to Quebec student protesters and the question, is it legal?
Anarchy, disrespect and selfishness have turned Quebec into a heaven for socially undesirable leeches.
If student protesters and their union leaders want respect, they must first become respectable.
In Ottawa, Quebec and elsewhere there are no respectable protesters on the streets right now, because all protesters put their own interests ahead of the interests of their fellow humans and the entire country.
Yes it is all about non existing entitlements, anarchy, selfishness, disrespect for the rights of others while demanding that others pay for their existence throughout life so they can contribute little or nothing to the country.
Truly shameful behavior condoned by their parents and urged on by union leaders, jobs for life professors and 34% of Canadians who pay NO provincial or federal income taxes.
In life free people are those with the capacity and intelligence to obey the laws of society and restrain oneself from interfering with the lawful rights of their fellow humans. May 25, 2012 10:09 AM
